The dream first week of finals

Seriously, it couldn’t have gone much better !

Firstly, no injuries. And now faced with the path of Roosters and Souths to make the GF, Not a given or an easy run, but couldn’t have asked for a better outcome from this weeks results. Even if we had won last night, the path would be harder through Penrith imo

Best case scenario is we are there on the big day and one of Penrith or Melbourne have belted 10 shades of **** out of each other the week before

Can definitely start looking at this terrible game vs the storm in an optimistic way. It wasnt like we were at our best and completely dominated. No, it was quite the opposite, I think we were at our worst.

Next week is such a huge game. If we bounce back and get our defence working hard we have a favourable path to the gf

(Only) If we win next week a lot of pressure will be off of us. Lots of expectation for souths now.

Absolute gift. There was very little chance we’d be able to get to penriths level in two weeks time after our last month of footy. Beat roosters, beat souths and we’d at least stand an underdogs chance

Yeah if we somehow get there I can't see us beating Storm, especially after they get a week off. Our best bet would be Panthers have to go the hard way and beat Storm. That would really open it up IF we could get there

Feeling sorry for Barrett, the self confessed mastermind behind Penrith’s form the past 2 years. Given he also rebuilt Manly from the Ashes into the team we are today, at least he has 2 remaining chances to claim a Premiership.

Having potentially Melb and the Riff literally go toe to toe and grind themselves to a standstill and not in the GF. Well, for a Manly supporter this is pure football heaven.

Was thinking the exact same thing. And also we hardly got out of 1st gear on Friday night plus have a 7day rest. It’s ours for the taking on our side of the draw.

Definitely. We are not battle hardened. Lack experience and easily lose composure.
At least we get that experience this year. Should hold us in good stead for next year.

I'm not sure anyone is underestimating souths but if it's a choice between them or Melbourne/penrith then it's a no-brainer. Look, we all know we've got to be a good percentage better to beat both the roosters and souths but we know we're capable and we're in with a fighting chance. That's all we need at the moment

For me if we get to week 3 preliminary final we may not win and think souths would be a stretch too far but what experience it would be for all our younger guys.

Their biggest attacking weapon is the service the backs get from Walker and Reynolds, very slick, shut this avenue of attack off and their there for the taking.

Imo Sam Verrills must be suspended for the next game - his hit was plush as it comes - just a straight up shoulder to the face. Of course he can still play if they fight their case.....so of course given its the rooters, I expect he will get off and be playing 🙁
