The Finals thread: (week 1)

As far as Heads butts go I think the late Hulk Hogan would be proud of Reece as it was a theatrical soft head push at best complemented by Hudson young’s backward dive. The NRL has actually got it right for once.

Didn’t Hudson Young come up with blood streaming out of his nose or was that another tackle.

If you’re going to get 10 for taunting someone you may as well throw a couple of left right goodnights (think of the children!).

Imagine if Reed Mahoney was playing, it’d be a permanent 13 v 12.

The NRL is a complete farce. They did everything in their powers to try and get a Roosters win. And that was a dead set try for the Raiders to seal the win. What an utter and complete disgrace. I'm not watching anymore of this b.s. for the remainder of the year.

100%

And that News Ltd really REALLY want a Donkey / Drizzle final.

Dead set , the Raiders lost every call last night.

Since when does a player get sent to the bin for celebrating a mistake by his opposition player ??

Since when does a headbutt not result in a send off ??

And seriously that try the pulled back in extra time , the benefit of any doubt should go to the attacking side , it didn’t and that cost them the game.

Clearly I’m no Raiders fan but looking at that game without bias I reckon they were more than hard done by.

The Raiders were minor premiers, got the timeslot that their coach wanted, were playing at home, with most of their squad fresh because they were rested last week, won the penalty count on Sunday, led by 16 points with 14 minutes remaining in regular time (having scored 2 tries in the sin bin period)... but still lost.

If they have to rely on bunker calls (both in my opinion were correct and were acknowledged as such by the commentators on both 9 and Fox) to win with all of those advantages, then they need to look at themselves.

Fair points

I can't imagine another NRL team could give up a 16 point lead . . .

He was fouled.

You cant touch the kickers legs anymore.

He wasn't attempting - he had already attempted - the Lawyers could argue the wording

Why is the rule only enforced on a drop goal? Why not for all kicks?
The rule was introduced to protect a kicker's legs, so the narrative went, yet there is no such concern when the kick is other than a field goal attempt.
