The new Lewis Brown

actually the Poo looks like he has firmed up ... and we know he's regular

He is going to have to have a very strong season in order to get another contract for 2019 and beyond. If he doesn't he is going to lose his spot to Fainu.

And given how crap he has been for us, the club would be mad to offer him any more than a one year extension even if he does play well this year.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine
When Brown gets another contact with Manly you will be vindicated .
Brown will NOT get a contract extension !!!
What do you really think of him?

Brown was signed because we were entering a rebuilding phase and he is an experienced player who trains at 100% and is not a dickhead.
In fact not only is he not a dickhead, he is an admirable human, and a person it was thought could contribute significantly to a rebuilding team culture.
Our results this year suggest our new team is indeed developing a positive culture, so although he hasn't starred on the field my view is he's been a smart signing.

Nice comment

Happy ?
Why wouldn't he be Happy
Think about it brad . You would be happy as well if you were getting paid $300 grand to sit on your ass on the bench and come on the field for the last 15 minutes .
Brown is a disgrace to the Manly Jumper and I will be Happy to see the last of him when his contact expires next season and only a "fool" would think that our club will extend his contract .

Spot on comments.

He plays a role. Don’t know why we ride him so hard. 100% player and a solid 14, I’m happy to see him play out his career here.

He can play a role in 2018. I think he provides balance and experience to our backrow "depth", and he still remains a "limited" backs/forwards utility option. Having said that, I think if Hastings steps up he is potentially our 14 bench utility, with a choice of Winterstein/Gosiewski/Lane as 15, two props from AFB, Perrett, Sipley, Paseka possibly Tanginoa as 16 & 17. In that case Brown misses out, but provides good injury cover plus additional cover for Hastings potential attitude issues/form loss etc

Well said.

omg look at those muscles. Getting excited & i'M NOT EVEN GAY!
He turns me on as well the way he uses those arms and his fingers to arm grab in tackles instead of using his shoulders to drive players backwards .
Arm grabbing and finger clutching does it for me as it shows the feminine side of a muscular player .
Another real turn on with the muscular Brown is that I find it sexy that he is so submissive in tackles
Every premiership winning team should invest in a Lewis Brown . Great guy great trainer and a great role model for all the young players to follow .
We can only hope for all our young players to turn into a Lewis Brown .
Can you imagine 17 Lewis Brown prototypes in our team ? Now thats a hot side !!!
The muscular Lewis Brown at his sexy and submissive best !!! Mmmmmm....................

A smart signing is a Ben Kennedy type of leader player who impacts on a teams performance on the field as well .Thats value .
As you say Brown has not starred on the field I agree with you 100% on that .
Cap space is critical and Brown is not smart cap $pace IMO.

Agree. Not smart cap space and he wont be there past 2018. I hope he doesnt get to play a single game this year, as our other backrow depth options step up and push him out to reserves. But in case of injuries to these and/or other utility player options, who IMO are better suited than Brown being in the 17, he does still provide depth and utility to the squad in 2018. Lets hope Thompson is the Ben Kennedy type of leader player you want.

Nothing personal with Brown as a human being but it does get personal with me a passionate supporter who is used to the great Manly sides of the past and is not used to seeing a sub par bench player .
The only way our team can step up from last season is for our young up and coming players to step up and give us more on the field that what we get from the finger clutching Brown .
I cant remember a player in the proud history of our club that finger tackled .
In 2018 we need the young players to step up and take over the aging players that are past it . If they dont its a matter of same sht same results !!!
We have moved on from the aging and under performing Myles and Lawrence and If we are to move on to bigger and better things we need to move on from Brown .
We have some young and talented players waiting on the NRL wings and I think we should give them play time and let them fly .
Lets get rid of the fingers and put some shoulders in our tackles in 2018

Nice sentiments and idea, however if we wanted someone to train hard and be a good bloke around the team but never play, then we could have signed Beaver to a contract and let him do that or some other cheaper reserve grader that wants a chance. Lewis Brown may be a good bloke to have around but there are plenty of better players who are good blokes and hard trainers that can actually do some damage on the field. Poor old Lewis is doneski's.
