The real premiership window - 2027 onwards

You can complain as much as you want about the coach, Waddell and whoever else.

And you are probably right.

But it all comes back to the contracts of Tom, Jake and DCE - $3.5m or thereabouts, and we are getting a broken Tom, a checked out 37yo Chery and a plodding Jake.

So basically, nothing out of our top 3 paid players.

Until all of these contracts roll off at the end of 2025 (checked out Cherry) and 2026 (busted Turbos), the math says we are just making up the numbers.

Yes that's the key thing that needs to change from a squad point of view. If we recruit wisely for next year, as long as Fogarty is decent, we can improve

We need a new coach but the coach needs the balls to strip the club back. Tom,Jake sorry you can leave, Brooks find abother club. They are not going to win us a premiership again.

We need a big rebuild plenty of others we can "encourage" to leave also. This is going to be a slow fix there are no quick fixes I'm just not sure we have an owner who wants to win he is happy to own a mediocre team so I fear we are only going to get worse.

I think only a wooden spoon will shake him out of his apathy towards the club.

So the marquee players shouldnt get paid the most? Between them they have payed almost 60 Origin matches. Agree with you 100% that Manly seem to have derived zero benefit from having those 3 great players. But hat is the solution? Pay Garrick and Haumole then same or more than Tom and DCE?

Its not just Manly, its just they are the only ones we care about.

Latrell and Murray at Souths would have to be their highest paid. How are they going. Or Ponga at Drugcastle, Hunt when he was a Dragon.

I think we are alongside those clubs mentioned above with Parramatta, Titans, Tigers, Raiders and Sharks. There is no premiership on the horizon. Between those 8 clubs i'd safely say none will in a comp in the next 20 years. The Dogs are there too, they are heading for a massive crash if you ask me. I am not sure when the Panthers next one will be either now.

The comp is so even but there is only ever 2 or 3 winning hopes.

The lost loyalty of players because of greed has killed any pride in the jersey with almost every player. Lucky for us the Trbojevics are not in that category, they should have packed up and went to the Roosters 5 years ago if they had any sense.

I guess we just line up again next week and cheer our team on and hope the best.

Which makes sense to throw in a whole heap of youngsters with a view to the future. If the current premiership window is all but gone, why persist with Dads army, when it makes no difference to the status quo a few years down the track.

Yes the marquee players should get the most - it is just that ours are really contributing little these days.
