It's great because at his best he's a match winner. I just hope and prey we get that $2.2mil worth of match winning performances over the next 2 years because by god we're going to need them. If we don't get at least 35 games minimum out of him then 2027 should see the end of it.

I have to say I was I little deflated when I read the news of the extension. 900k is too much for him.

What happened this time next year? Does he just keep signing 900k 1 year extensions from now on?

The club should have stayed true to it's word and extended at 850. Really bad form to go back on your word. If Tom has a fantastic year the value of his next extension will go up

Hopefully there’s clauses in there to give him the ass if he breaks down again. 900k is ridiculous for someone who reckons they wanted to refund a chunk of his salary.

Tom is not worth 900K; he hasn’t performed consistently at that level since 2021. IMO even offering him 750K over three years would have posed a significant risk for the club.
We also need to clarify Jake’s extension for 2027. I think any offer above 450K-500K raises even more serious concerns.

I agree, but I think we all know he will be getting one. He will be our captain next season as well.

I guess its got a bit for everyone, instead of signing Tom for 800k on a 3yr deal its a 1yr on 900k. If Tom goes well next season, we won't begrudge him the extra 100k in 27.
If Tom goes back to ordinary Tom next season, at least it's not a 3yr at 800k. Just pray 2027 will be a good season for Tommy. Looks like Tommy is backing himself on a 1yr deal and see what Manly will offer for 2028.

The issue is why our management thought it be good to offer him 900k in the first place. Our management are systematically breaking our club down. why was Shuster offered 800k, why do we only have 2 players signed long term and one being a winger? Our path to success died alongside Bozo imo
