He’s on $1.3 million until the end of next year, so we’re still saving $400k. That is basically an extra first grader somewhere else for 2027. When combined with Jake’s new contract, it’s likely in marquee territory.

NRL rich list has Tommy on $1.3 million this year, and presumably next year too.

So, still a $400k saving on even this year.

I don't like the 900k part of this - but it was important to keep Tom at the club in my opinion.

We are short on leaders and not to have Tom and Jake around (in what I would have hoped to be dramatically reduced contracts) would be a mistake in my view.

From a football perspective we probably wont get our moneys worth - but this place is hanging by a thread- and if Tom and Jake go now, then its a long dark rebuild in my view.

Despite what gets put out there about the two of them, I bet they have an enormous respect from their teammates and set the standard at the club.

Yeh its true they have won f&ck all at Manly - but for me the next leaders in the club aren't ready and we still need these guys around for the next couple of years.

Lol - people whinging and whining how much players are earning.

Here are the facts, the best player at every club is the top earner. Tom is our best player by a county mile.

Other best players include Munster, Tedesco, Mitchell/Murray, Ponga, Hynes, Dave Fifita, Cleary, Moses, Luai, Val Holmes to name a few.

Of the above list how many earnred their money last year? You see it doesn't always work out but the clubs have to pay what the players are worth not how they perform.

The issue is why our management thought it be good to offer him 900k in the first place. Our management are systematically breaking our club down. why was Shuster offered 800k, why do we only have 2 players signed long term and one being a winger? Our path to success died alongside Bozo imo

and a shxt winger at that....
