I haven't seen anything of Elgey so for all I know he may be the next Australian half...but it's a tall order to bring in a 21 yo and expect him to step into 1st grade and fill the shoes of a seasoned half. If he's as good as everyone say's I hope we get him but I think we'll need a back up plan in case it takes him time to step up.

The club must give Foran a deadline or else withdraw their offer, just as they did with that other bloke. It has to be soon. The club has to be able to plan for the future and needs clarity as to how much it has to spend, who will be playing for us etc.

I like Sezer as a player but I think we need to sign a specialist halfback not a 5/8 that will play halfback.

Cherry and Foz play good together because they compliment each others styles of play, so ideally we should be signing someone who shares alot of the same attributes that Cherry plays with.
Things like a strong kicking game, good game management, can actually look infront of him and play what he see's but can also fall into a structure and can play calm patient footy, a good fend, can actually tackle and overall good game instincts.

I can live with signing a young unknown so long as he has most (if not all) of those attributes, in the end we should be signing a player on ability not because of his name.

I'd take the punt though, sign him or vornish on a small two year deal and if they don't work out target a big name half for 2017 better then throwing big coin at Hodkibson who imo is average

He'd already signed elsewhere and probably told the club so the club's management could look tough instead of tooth less they told the papers they withdrew

Hodki was nothing but a placeholder at manly so DCE could have one more year in the lower grades

He lost his spot to Keating ffs

Well henry said that he would like to get him up this year if possible. I wonder if manly and titans are starting to think about trading players.

You can have DCE now if we can have sezer, elgey and james.

just to clarify I actually listened to that interview yesterday and henry didn't bring it up or pursue it. It actually sounded like he gave the answer to be diplomatic and not hurt DCEs feelings. He said that he hadn't really considered it and it was his understanding he would play out the contract and go to them in 2016. He said there was no discussion of it and they would have to assess their current 25 man squad and cap situation. In other words triple m took the most inflammatory quotes and made it sound like he was pursuing him. I actually thought henry was quite respectful towards manly

Yes. He looks a terrific player; he seemed to score a dozen tries against Manly, alone!
However, these compilations can be misleading. I've seen some players look like world-beaters when all of their mistakes are omitted.

Wow this kids a really good player!
His running game is freaking awesome, he is quick as lighting and has a decent passing game.

Its his support play that im impressed with, he could even play fullback IMO

You can teach any player the basic fundamentals but you cant teach the natural ability and skills that he possesses
