Well we don’t seem to want to buy any back rowers, so we may as well try to create one internally. Played plenty of centre and a regular spot in top 30 will see him bulk up. Hoppa used to get ragdolled regularly - not many saying that now. Talau has been regularly touted for a back row switch - not sure he is that much bigger than Clayton. Not enough spots for all our outside backs but only 2 regular backrowers.
Maybe we can try to fool everyone into thinking Clayton is the next Nathan Cleary and move him to halfback based on his moustache and same haircut.

Talau and Schoup as depth backrowers would potentially be better than what we have now. However, we need to focus on recruiting an outside backrower with minimum (20-30 NRL games) experience, and further develop Burbo as our backrow priorities for 26/27.

If I was recruiting I would;

1/ offload Saab - misses too many games and is a bit mistake prone for money he is on
2/ Garrick to wing
3/ re sign turbo on centre money
4/ re sign Talau as the main back up outside back
To be fair Saab is an excitement machine and one of my favourite players to watch when he gets going but yep, unfortunately he's a play one game miss three games just like Aloiai and Turbo. Then the odd game they do play their play is rocks and diamonds.Which I guess is like the rest of the team at the moment.

I am talking about going forward you fool, read the posts!
Careful who you’re calling a fool!!! If you have a hard on for Turbo so be it & yea I have read the posts! All I’m doing is replying….not once have I called you a name! I may be a fool but you’re an ignorant fu<kwit! Now you have a name for life!

Hehe Schoup….the invisible depth player.

Turbo to ink extension worth $800k……to be announced soon!!!!

17. Tom Trbjoevic looks set to ink a contract extension worth about $800,000 a season. Seems like unders on talent but massive overs on availability. It also seems like a contract worth of an elite centre. Which is exactly where I'd have Turbo play out the rest of his career to try and get the most value out of him. Good business.

18. Speaking of good business, the Sea Eagles moving on from Daly Cherry-Evans to Jamal Fogarty seems like an accidental masterstroke. At a big discount too. Sometimes you just luck into situations like this.

Happy with 800k personally.

I know many here wont be though.
That’s a $300k per year saving. Now for Jurbo to take a huge pay cut (upto $400k) or retire & become our defense coach. With the $500k saved with DCE going, the club could be looking at a minimum $1.2m extra to spend next year!!

Are we serious? 800k… you bet I’m not happy. This is a guy who CANNOT GET ON THE FIELD with any consistency. Talent aside, we cannot carry that sort of instability. By all means, gamble on the guy but only at the right price. I’m personally pi$$ed at that figure.

How much do we realistically want to spend on a centre (taking into account our roster imbalance for a decade)?

$80k a game, good money if you can get it.
