Pretty much says everything you need to know!!
Doesn't really show anything except bad formatting ;)

While he is not a blue chip 5/8, he performs his role within the team well

and until we can afford to upgrade him, it's a "Green" day!

That's the thing with Green. He's a solid half, not an x-factor. I'd prefer an x-factor, but if Green is what we've got, then so be it. Just means that the onus falls more on players like DCE, Walker and Turbo to break games open.

Breaking games open is what DCE and Walkz and Tom are being paid for, DCE is the x factor half, Green is just here game manage and do his job.

I completely agree, if a big name 6 was off contract and was affordable Id swap Green out for them.
That being the case, you could have saved the trouble by playing the ball rather than the man regarding our disagreements about certain members of the squad. It isn't that hard to have an affable conversation about players.

Bad formatting and he cant hold down a job for longer than 2 years.
Seems Manly fans on this forum are the only ones who see any long term value with Green!

Thanks

Try Assists - statistical evidence of a non existent passing game
Trys scored - statistical evidence of a non existent running gme

The fact is that we CAN afford to upgrade and should!
We just aren't prioritising it high enough

Non existent passing and running game? Maybe TB has him doing other things? You bagged him on another thread for missing tackles or a bad technique but he leads the way in this department alongside the other "blue chip" 5/8's

How do you know what we can afford? Are you the CFO?

I don't see Green as a long term prospect at all but I trust Bozo has the plan in place to replace him.

Exactly, why would they upgrade and extend after the injury he copped when he’s already locked in for another two years?
I hardly think that the upgrade was done after the injury. Most likely it was done well before (and done to help with salary cap shifting I.e. Move some of the monies from the next two years to a later time)

Chuck in 3 40/20s and first for goal line drop outs he is up there with better halves.

Goal line dropouts. Wow! That is a vital job. I never thought it was such a specialised position in the NRL.

I am not sure if you are having a go at him or not. LOL!

.

No but I can do MATHS and unless we plan to be the only club not spending the salary cap allowance, I would suggest we can afford it.

This "in Bozo we trust" line is just getting old!
The club is run by the Penns who I don't believe share the on field ambitions of the fans

Repeat sets are very important I would have thought.

It's gotta be one of the most deceptive stats out there............

Maybe we shouldn't be getting to the 5th tackle in the red zone as much but instead scoring tries?
Maybe an attacking creative 5/8 gets us over the try line instead of putting a 5th tackle kick in which is cleaned up the defence?

I know its just me and its a fairly radical thought, but I rather be scoring tries than getting forced drop outs!

I think once you're at tackle 5, you should be aiming for an attacking kick that can only possibly end with either a try or a drop out. In the long run, drop outs are devastating against your opponents. For mine, maintaining possession is far better than rolling the dice to try to score a try.

Promising Warriors playmaker Ata Hingano could leave New Zealand if the club signs Manly's Blake Green.

Green is signed with the Sea Eagles for next year, but has had significant interest from across the ditch.

A five-eighth, Hingano is hoping to step into the hole left by Kieran Foran alongside Shaun Johnson in the halves.

The 20-year-old played 13 games in 2017, filling in when the Bulldogs-bound Foran was injured.

Hingano's agent, Peter Brown, said the Tongan Test player doesn't want to be left on the bench or in reserve grade again and will most likely leave if Green is signed.

"If he is going to be third or fourth wheel then he might as well look elsewhere," Brown told the Herald on Sunday in New Zealand.

"We told the Warriors that when he re-signed with them.

"If they did sign Green we would have to reevaluate."

The final word on Green................and then his supporters can stick their heads back in the sand.......
Our aim should be to win a premiership and the 6 role is one of the key roles if we are going to be a successful team

So on my reckoning we have a 6 who is at best in the bottom rung of all the 6's from the 16 teams

Better than Green (i.e. swap them in for Green at Manly in a heart beat) and in no particular order:

Milford
Munster
Norman
Widdop
Austin
Foran
Keary
Maloney
Martin
May

And the lower rung......

C Walker
Lolohea
Elgey
Cogger
Green
Reynolds

Walker, Lolohea, Elgey & Cogger are here because I haven't seen enough of them playing............but I suspect they are also better than Green..........or will be ................or at least younger and with more potential!
I'd bet most teams would probably take them over Green.

Realistically only Reynolds is categorically worse!

So you all keep talking up Green (and i'm the delusional one) but we ain't going anywhere if he is one of our key play makers

NLSeaEagle out!
lolohea is a great player. he is an absolute **** five eight though

Manly was 3rd in the comp for total tries scored and 2nd = on tries per match, so it would suggest that the 2 go hand in hand fairly well
