What's worth streaming on TV.

  • We had an issue with background services between march 10th and 15th or there about. This meant the payment services were not linking to automatic upgrades. If you paid for premium membership and are still seeing ads please let me know and the email you used against PayPal and I cam manually verify and upgrade your account.
Found it.

Shall start watching soon.

thanks again.
You do know I blame you when the wifey gets on my back about the amount of time I watch any of the streaming services. "It’s Globals fault , he keeps recommending good stuff to watch (especially the Scando genre). She said, so if Global recommended that you jump off a cliff would you "?.
I said yes, but I’d have to ask him what cliff that would be. She walks off, muttering something about being a massive smart arse. @:p

lol... Awww. Well I don't wanna get anyone in trouble.

I'd suggest you mention that the more time you watch Scandi's the less time you're on porn sites! (lemme know how that goes)

She should watch them with you. Tell her they're slower paced, beautiful scenery, makes everything cosy cosy.. it's quite romantic! (well except for the murder part). You can both snuggle under the covers and get into some subtitle reading!

You could mention that I could legitimately tell you to jump off a cliff as many skiers do it during the snow season! (though that would get us both tagged with the smart ass label).

Ahhh... true love! :) :h:

If you like your scandi (and I think you do) you need to watch Trom, set in the Faroe Islands. I'm not sure where it's available to watch but keep a lookout for it

Watched the series, thank you for your recommendation. I'd recommend it to others who like the genre.

I found this re season 2:

Negotiations on a sequel to TROM have been put on hold due to disagreements on broadcasting rights (bastards) which have led to a production stop for streaming services in Denmark.

However, TROM screenwriter Torfinnur Jákupsson remains hopeful that a second season will become a reality.
”With a bit of luck, this dispute will be resolved this year, and then we can continue working on our second season.”
He has already scripted the first episode of season 2, and the storylines for the remaining episodes have been created.
“We’re planning to spice things up for the second season by adding more action and perhaps a bit of violence,” says the screenwriter.

Watched this today. The next episode in the ‘Untold’ series.
Well worth the watch. Maybe it’s just me, but I found a lot of
similarities to what has gone on at Manly. Not the major story,
just subtle symbolic references to Manlys troubles.

Seen “Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn't Exist” on Netflix yet?

Also finished Reminiscence. My mother recommended it. It is a sci-fi flick with Hugh Jackman and it is absolute shiit. I love Hugh, but he must of lost a bet to a producer or something. I would’ve canned it after 15 minutes, but my mother will follow up with questions on the movie that can only be answered if you watch the lot. Alternatively, I could just say it’s shiit Mum, give yourself a triple. But she’s my mum, so I play the obedient son.

I know what you mean...but your mum sure can pick 'em.

from wiki:

It was the worst opening of all-time by a film playing in over 3,000 theaters, passing The Rhythm Section's $2.7 million debut in January 2020.
On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 36% based on 195 reviews with an average rating of 5.1/10.
@:D@:D

Though I'm the only one in the world who liked "Wild Wild West" with Will Smith and that has a 16% rating on rotten tomatoes. So I can't talk. lolololololol

You beat me to it @wombatgc I remember it at the time but sheeeeeesh damn!

Fun fact: did you see Braith Anasta on it 🤔
Legit question!

Black Spot (ironically called zone Blanche - white zone - in French.)

this one was OooooooKaaaaaaaaay. It has a surprisingly high rate on netflix of 9.1 / 10

It's tagged "An eccentric prosecutor and police chief solve grizzly crimes in a small town."

But it's just not really the case.

The prosecutor and the major don't really get on and are hardly seen in scenes together as they both solve separate crimes.

There is a supernatural element to this series (2 seasons) that they don't really mention in that the forest is 'alive'.

I didn't mind it, it's worth a watch to see if it is something in your wheelhouse.

Basically, the audience need to feel some empathy for characters (in any medium, books, movies, etc) but the french being french haven't really bothered with that. There's not a lot of growth. So whenever anything bad happens to a character I'm not really bothered. It's more of a 'meh' reaction.

I'd give it a 6... but what do I know.

Black Spot - netflix.

Wow, just watched the latest Untold story in the series.
I reckon this (or some parts) are definitely going on in the NRL right now.
I want to say a tonne more on this, but I’ll spoil it.
‘Please someone watch so I can discuss it further.
The similarities with our dodgy officiating is scary stuff.
What the refs discuss in their meetings, and how they influence a game
because of personal gripes is also an eye-opener.
Ok, I’ll stop now……

Seen “Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul” on Netflix yet?

Really? No I didn’t. Which bit was he in?

Yeah I've "exaggerated" a little, they go to that nerds place and he's got 100 TV screens running and Braith's face was on one of those. Looked like a morning show, or possibly Fox Sports News

I watched it following your recommendation, mate. Really enjoyed it. I think it would be more surprising if dodgy stuff wasn’t going on in the NRL…

Last year the nhl banned ref Tim Peel because he gave a dodgy penalty, left his mike on and was heard saying - "It wasn't much, but I wanted to get a [expletive] penalty against Nashville early in the....,"

Peel was heard saying before his microphone was cut off after Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson was called for a tripping penalty at 4:56 of the second period.

I wonder if the nrl would respond as strongly (lol of course not) but the nhl said...

"Tim Peel's conduct is in direct contradiction to the adherence to that cornerstone principle that we demand of our officials and that our fans, players, coaches and all those associated with our game expect and deserve," he said in the statement. "There is no justification for his comments, no matter the context or his intention, and the National Hockey League will take any and all steps necessary to protect the integrity our game."

So I 100% believe refs go into games with all their little biases firmly in place.

The next ‘Untold’ story should be called, "Jake,Jake,Jake!".

If you think you’ve seen everything there is to see about winning the Americas Cup, then you need to watch this. If you don’t get goosebumps at various stages of this Untold series, you’re not Australian!

haha... I watched that last night! (actually about 8 hours ago - after I finished an iceland show...'case' - sorta "meh").

It was about 11.45pm when I saw it on the menu and I went to myself...

"don't watch it now, it's too late. don't watch it now...!!!"

Then I said to myself...ok just watch a little bit. My brain went: "That's b/s if you expect me to believe you won't watch the whole thing!"

Suffice to say, I got to bed about 1am. lololol

Really enjoyed it (patriotically), nice to hear from some other crewmen as well as Bertrand.
I remember how desperately 'cheat-y' the yanks were, and........

Bertrand's last comment was rather poignant (and I remember thinking similar at the time...even though I was a young'un). - not typing a spoiler.

edit - I'm tired.

I watched this on Monday and thought the same as you - there is no question it happens
I listened to a podcast along similar themes, insightful stuff

lol. I have that same internal battle of the minds when something really good comes out. It was the same for "Reacher". I was so pumped to 1. NOT see Tom Cruise play Reacher 2. Knowing that Lee Childs was one of the Executive Producers, will he be able to influence the series to mirror his own books better.
Said the same, don’t binge it. Enjoy it slowly. Appreciate the acting……fkn HA!…..binged the whole series till 5am.
I don’t want to add a spoiler, but can I just say how blown away I was when Bertrand decided he needed to understand the American technology better. How he did that, where he did that. And he talks about it like he just signed up for an evening course at your local TAFE.
