Where Manly fell short

This is the way I see it, and it pretty much concurs with what others here have said.

We had a side that was good enough to be a top 4 side, they proved that. However, we weren't any where near consistent enough and we didn't have quality in depth. We started poorly, had a golden patch mid-season, and then when injuries began to hit (Jorge, Siro etc), we were found wanting.

On our day we could have beaten anyone, Melbourne included. But you just never knew which Manly was going to show up. We'd have a big win one week against a side like Easts or Cronulla, and get flogged the next week by a team we shouldn't have lost to.

Ultimately, what hurt us was inconsistency, injuries, in some cases inexperience, and yes even some poor form.

But I agree with a lot of you....add 2 or 3 quality players (a couple of forwards and a speedy outside back) to help with depth, add a decent goal kicker and we'll be back in the finals in 2018.
