Even their reserve half Hastings seems to go well & most of their squad outside the 17 would get a gig in the run on side at many NRL clubs.

Sorry, but at this point though, if Sir Brad Arthur can't get the best out of him, he's done.

1.Maloney - Experienced, premiership winning five eight/halfback plus his goalkicking.
2.Tom Burgess - Big, young forward who attracts plenty of defenders.
3.Elgey - young talented half to combine with Maloney.

I totally agree. Although I would have Burgess and Elgey at the top of the list, and if we could Maloney, it would be icing on the cake. I don't think Maloney is a must though; he is worth the coin, but he will be 29 and moving into the twilight of his career, whereas Elgey could be the next big thing and you could build a team around a young halfback. Maloney would just be stopping by to top up his retirement fund.

As I said in another thread, we should become experts in this arena. If we are going to be in a rebuild cycle and are coming from a position of downswing then get aggressive and bid (dummy or not) for other clubs players that costs those other clubs when/if they dont come off. Most especially against teams like the eels who have cost us in recent times.

Give them pause for thought about what repercussions might come to them when they interfere with Manlys family.

I think you will find we paid $300,000 of Watmough's money as it was owed to him from his final contract....also think Parra have massive TPA's that probably reduce certain players contracts quite substantially.

I agree, dont forget lussick, sandow, mannah (c) & norman and apparently they are chasing izzy...salary cap what cap? Correct me if im wrong but i believe they need top 25 players under 6.7 mil (current cap) I can name 1/2 dozen players that chew through 3.5-4 mil considering minimum wage is 80k........u do the math.

We need to build towards our future. We need halves, and they HAVE to get blooded early..this team aint a contender anyways.

We also need some solid young forwards.

Short term bandaids like Vidot add very little.
