Will the real DARCY stand up.

At least everyone is on the same page in the general sense in just emphasizing and certainly hoping that despite some indifferent form over past seasons that Darcy can ideally manage an improved and more consistent year for 2018 . Especially now that B J has now moved on and some forward leadership and experience will be very important in addition to what Marty can also hopefully provide . Darcy can not control things on an injury front but of course can better manage his on field attitude and discipline to again enable him produce and show his optimum and best playing ability . Even little things like fighting to regain his feet in playing the ball after being regularly put on his pack can make a difference and maybe even win some penalty's and again the bottom line is of course that some improvement is just not required from Darcy but quite a few others as well to lift and elevate Manly to the next and more competitive level . I would also include Tom Wright in this category . he has done well in the 20 's but if he can show his Phill Blake type abilities in first grade opportunities next season he could be pretty handy as well .

One of several players that has the potential to turn '18 from a good year into a very good year.

Darcy as a young'en showed potential until his ill advised sojourn into the depths of the sewer that is Parramatta. Came back to the light .. but took time to shrug off the Parra sludge and struggled to regain form early in '16.

Mid way through the season (coinciding with personal lose) he hit career best form and was well on the way to forming one of the most lethal front row partnerships in the NRL with Kapow. Sadly, injury struck at the worst time and we lost him for the last 4 games of the year when we were fighting for a top 8 spot.

Had a poor '17 pre-season, and again injured his arm before the start to the season delaying his return until rd 6. Unfortunately his return was cut short after only 2 wks and he was again out injured for ten weeks until rd 17.

By this time you have a very frustrated and desperate young man, eager (maybe too eager) to get on the park and make a difference. He flew into the games like a young bull .. all piisss and vinegar, and whilst keen enough, he failed to have the impact he desired.

I think Darcy would be well aware that his career has not risen the the levels forecast, and that "18 will be a career defining year for him.

I believe that a good off season and the right mental attitude could well see Darcy become the man we have all hoped he would become .... and again build a lethal partnership with Kapow.
Nice post Woodsie, really nice. And absolutely right. Lussick is capable of so much and we all know it - he just has to get it and he needs to know it's in him. Inspiring to read and hope he reads it here - I reckon the players def read this forum.
