In all my years watching Manly, I'm not sure that I've ever seen so many players play below their ability in the same game

Of all the guys out there, Jake, Uate and Brown (while playing 2nd row) can hold their head up and say they had a decent crack. Tom close but still has a few too many flaws in his game. Taupau couldn't really question his effort today either but wasn't a huge threat

Is a real mystery how they can be so far off today, I expected a loss, and probably by 20 or so, there is a reason they have led the comp all season, but we were so lacklustre for the entire 80mins

Api and Green were absolutely terrible and DCE not far behind them, 3 of your spine produce that and you're no hope

Every side has a lull during a season, and we have been in 1 for 5 weeks now and somehow jagged 2 wins, but the depth of the lull is concerning

Am sure we will still pull out a couple of results and sneak into the 8, which overall will be a decent effort with our squad if we looked at it pre season, but from where we were mid season is a bit of a disappointment

One last thing. Has there ever been a weaker big body in the game than Winterstein ? Never takes a hard run at all when we are under pressure, should be a fill in when we have injuries at best

when doing MVP I got stuck after Uate
who'd have thought that in March

We will bounce back, in fact the absolute humiliation of the past two weeks may well be the precipice for launching a late year assault. I'm tipping us to win at least four of the last five rounds and believe we will beat the Roosters next week. Melbourne will win it this season unless something drastic happens. They have absolute quality in every position.

It looks like we're burnt out kiwi.

I keep wanting to say that there is a big lack of effort but we look out on our feet. There was a 6-7 week period there where we were the best team in the competition by some margin and now its all falling apart as guys in their first and second years just don't know how to run into the finals.

I really want to jump on the deliberate lack off effort bandwagon but I just cant atm. It really does seem like a young side running out of legs.

It seems I have been hearing, "Get ready for the start of our run into the finals" for the last month. Please stop it, it is not going to happen. God I hope we have our eyes on a few top end forwards because we are not going to be serious contenders with this lot. Taupau and Jake are world class but as for the rest of the forwards?! Taupau has just become tired of carrying them. Jake will probably get fed up in the next few weeks as well. Too many passengers in our team compared with the other teams around us. 92 points in the last two weeks!!

Yeah I don't want to go down the lack of effort route, because there was a lot of scrambling involved in stopping a few tries in the first half that shows effort is there

At the moment we couldn't beat a wet rag with a stick.

Lewis Brown is ordinary mate.

In no way a world beater, but when playing in the 2nd row, has something to offer. Is a good solid option playing there but a liability in the centres

Reason I say he went ok today, didn't miss a tackle in the first half while making the 2nd most, cleaning up a lot of drop offs by Walker and DCE, was in the top few for metres gained, held Munster up over the line long enough for Api to get underneath him, and made his way to midfield to clean up a Cronk grubber 1m out and save us from more trouble

That's a decent effort and one I'm more than happy with, but move him a slot wider into the centres and it is a disaster

I'd take him over Frank any day of the week tbh

I think we're having a rolling strike, the brown paper bags have dried up so we're tanking on purpose

Giant Douche or Turd sandwich debate really.

He had a dig, as you say. But he's just a lightweight unfortunately and his defence is jersey grabbing mainly.

Lewis brown has NOTHING to offer.

Cherry is running sideways again

Wright has no right to be anywhere near a MWSE team

Kelley is a rookie who is fading fast in his first season and needs a spell.

Winterstein is the laziest footballer I've ever seen. What did he do to deserve a new contract?

Blake green has as many cons in his game as he does pros.

Walker can't get into the game because the forwards have lost all their punch and cherry is cramping him.

Way to many average players, but the nucleus of a good team. We desperately need a stronger support cast around our stars.
I didn't have high hopes for this season and thought we would be mid table, but they got my hopes up with some inspired footy, then dashed those same hopes with insipid, uninspired and passionless performances.

And Barrett, address the problems, it's the same every week and isn't what we were doing mid season so you and the players should know how to fix it.

We are slow offthe line, slow getting up to play the ball. We rolled up the middle once or twice which was promosing. Taupau is given a lot of effort but every team knows to wrap the ball up. We need some off loads in our game

Unfortunately our lack of quality players across the whole team has been shown up over the last few weeks.

Wright, Winterstein, Lane, Perrett, Kelly - (yes he is talented but he is still very young and not quite up to the standard of a first grade centre.....yet), Lussick at times and Brown, are not quite up to the average standard of first grade players.

That is 7 players who have played in either last weeks, this weeks or both games. Those same players IMO, would not have been picked in a number of other teams first grade squads.

I also think our game plan has been completely ineffective over the past few weeks as well.

Anyway, we seriously do need some key signings for next year....!

We haven't got the forward talent yet. AFB, Perret need more games under their belt. We need a one more quality prop to show them the way.
