Young girl meets her Hero Tom Trbojevic

Oh, I don't know...
Maybe Ana Ivanovic?

Happy Days, better resolution than I expected!

Agreed. And everyone does not have to have a sporting 'hero'. Although most of us on Silvertails might?
Footy for me was Bozo (I actually saw him play, bad luck @BOZO!!) in sport generally it was Muhammed Ali. Fave cricketer was Doug Walters 🙂
Your hero was the Incomparable Immortal ! Man! We have more in common that I though we did ! . You got to see him play live as well ! I saw him live and shook his hand at Brookvale oval when he was our coach . I was startled and still am

Hero is too cringeworthy a word but I admired Bob Fulton in RL. In cricket it was Greg Chappell and, later, Adam Gilchrist. In swimming it was Shane Gould. In surfing it was Midget Farrelly. In tennis it was Bjorn Borg....
Seems like you have a hero for every sport

I think body builders are only interested in being attractive to other body builders. As opposed to weight lifters, who everyone finds hot

Yep, I reckon you’re on the money there. The spray-tanned, over-oiled bag of walnuts look must be a very niche market, whereas I think most people can probably appreciate the generally toned kind of physique that is a by-product of training for something other than the mirror.

My rule of thumb - if you’re spending more time trying to look good than I am (and I’m a pretty low-maintenance chick!) then I’m probably not going to be interested! Shower regularly, have a shave and a haircut occasionally, and be capable of going outside and doing ‘stuff’ instead of sitting on the couch all day, and that’s pretty much all the ‘physical’ boxes ticked lol

If there's no mental boxes to tick, I'm in with a chance.

What if someone was all those things, and funny as well. Sure, he might dress like a Franciscan monk and have eyes that point in opposite directions, but no ones perfect right?

Eyes that point in different directions could be really useful actually. Really good security measure, for one!

Well done Tom , Well done globaleagle
Nice post . Every body needs a hero
Mine is the greatest athlete of all time .
The one and only Incomparable Immortal Zachary Robert Fulton

But I always thought you liked Zorba? None of us have had any clue that you were a Bob Fulton fan.

😛

I have only met one Manly player in my life (2 actually, though one was well before he became a Sea Eagle). That was Fatty when he played for a South Australian "select" side against Wally Lewis' Gold Coast Seagulls here in Adelaide in 1992 the night before the Australian Grand Prix. I was a ball boy lol. The other was Brenton Lawrence when he played U/14s for the Central Districts Roosters here as a kid (1996/97).

But my all time Manly hero was the genius himself, Sir Cliffy of Brookvale, closely followed in a 3-way tie for second by Tooves, Beaver and Snake.

lol @:D

@Moondog gave my original post about turbo a dislike for some reason. Can one of you bigguns (either gender) sort him out for me please?

@lurker , if @Mark from Brisbane posts a really nice story like this one on twitter and not even bother about good ole silvertails.... then no credit to him! And no soup for you..both!
