The new interchange rule won't change a thing with how the forwards are used in the game. Mason will always use up 2 interchanges per game playing the same minutes. Some teams already only use 8 as it is.
I really hope we resign him as he has been massive for us.
I think starting him each half lays a platform for the boys.He backs up his mouth with hard running & hitting. He is just as massive out there verbally as well as he is physically.
He seems to be firing the guys up ,which is what's been missing since Foran has quietened down & BJ's been out injured.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have today signed one of the hottest young schoolboy rugby players in Tom Wright.

The 18-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Sea Eagles and will join the NRL pre-season squad in November.

“Tom is arguably the most exciting schoolboy rugby prospect in Australia,’’ said Sea Eagles CEO Joe Kelly.

“He can play several positions but predominately is a five-eighth.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured Tom’s services. He will no doubt excite Sea Eagles fans with his skills, speed and footwork.”

The last "best rugby player of his generation from St Josephs College" was Kurtley Beale - and he has never really fulfilled his promise.

Joe Kelly is supposed to be an astute businessman - but having been in business myself for more than 40 years I've always believed in "under promising and over delivering."

Tom Wright is a ****ing weapon. That's a great signing. Obviously there's much to do before he's an nrl star, but that's great stuff from Manly.

I know it's only a highlights package and they are only schoolboys but he looks big strong and fast. Can anyone shed light on Nathan Green, Brad Parker and John Walker??? And no not the drink

I hope you are Wright! He obviously has heaps of talent and, while my earlier post was a little skeptical, I applaud the club for their foresight in planning for the future.
I still remember us signing JWH from rugby . . and we know how that turned out.

Green is a ranga from the Dragons - Tred positions
Brad Parker is from Rockhampton
John Walker is a St Augustine's rugger kiddie who must have crossed Brookie on the way to school and decided to stay:)

watching that highlights reel, he shows great speed and really backs himself which is nice but he never runs onto the ball. always flat footed, might make some great meters from dummy half after the interchange is dropped to 8. can see him making some big tired forwards look very silly.

If Bozo can add both Joey Lussick and Charlie Taylor to the Walker signing now that becomes impressive.

Agree 100% Cliffy. 3 young talented players and interesting to note as a local shute shield rugby watcher, these 3 players mentioned all played rugby for their private schools on scholarships with high honours in Representative Rugby in NSW a few times.

Taylor dual schoolboy international in rugby and league. Lussick and Taylor would be great to have, both local juniors apparently living on the Northern Beaches, both can cover different positions competently and Taylor will provide the speed that is so much needed outwide.

Lussick is a good goal kicker as well, which is handy to have. Someone close to the club recently has told me Charlie Taylor is keen to get back. This is where some $$$$ needs to be spent, getting some youth into the side rather than spending the $$$$ buying semi retired recycled players who are getting old and the injuries start creeping in. Fingers crossed !!

I assume the 423 person to run out a sea eagle in 98 Jason Lussick is Darcy and Joey's dad?

It's curious that we have just signed Joey Lussicks old Union halves partner.

And if we are ever bringing a local kid back to the nest, Charlie Taylor has to be that kid. Only last year we were debating who was better, him or Tom T. Tom is already a star and someone half as good in the centres for our NSW Cup team is exactly what we need.

A package deal. It has merit too.

These are some images of Charlie Taylor I have found on the Roosters site for people who don't know of this kid

What about Nate Myles ?

Manly have had a few ex St Joseph's players go through the Club: Ben Kennedy, Shannon Nevin, Darcy Lussick and someone else whose name escapes me. Great school that...
