A few of the players had clearly checked out that season, it was clear that the situation was untenable. But the next 10 years were rarely better.

Only when Hasler and Toovey were shafted. Now excuses are acceptable.

I was one of the lucky fans that shared the room with CEO Joe Kelly in Albury. That was round 5 and it was known then Toovey was getting the chop.

I have nothing against Seibold personally and I am sure he is a lovely fella, however, 'Hard arse bastard coaches' win premierships and the nice guys are all down the bottom.

Personally I think Toov's was just steamrolled for whatever reason and I found it sad. In all reality, aside from a few poor refereeing decisions, he should have been a premiership winning coach in his first year.
