Not sure why we got to comparing Seibold to Stuart, and I am no fan of either, but one thing Stuart does very well is play the mind games whilst hoodwinking the idiots (and his mates) in the media. Before he got his most recent contract extension (after yet another year of not winning anything) he was spruiking in the media about how the raiders needed to rebuild with its younger players, and that it would take a few years but he was the only guy who could do it. Gets himself a nice new fat contract while simultaneously downplaying expectations. Genius.
Compare that to our SuperCoach, who states we are in a premiership window and that our aim is to break away from the “cluster” in the bottom of the 8 to become a genuine top 4 team and premiership threat. What does that do? Raise expectations, put pressure on the players to perform, and provide motivation for our opponents. Not genius.
