Keppie

Aloiai having shoulder surgery & reportedly gone for the season.
Makes sense. Couldn't see any point trying to rest a shoulder that dislocates when you look at it. Get it done and start rehab for full fitness next year. He and Tom can have coffee together.

Keppie is not good enough. Nor Tuilagi. Nor Woods.
Bully is impressive. He has a crack and doesn't drop the ball, miss tackles or give away penalties. He should be one of our starting second rowers.
Jurbo may be the best tackler in the league but that's where it stops. He doesn't try to break tackles and gives away so many penalties it's infuriating. If he thinks he's doing the team a favour by pushing boundaries he's dumb. Refs pick him out, and we get hammered with six-again calls. I think it was 6-1 tonight!

Keppie is a microcosm of the Manly team as a whole: capable of doing some good things, but more likely to do something bad or stupid. He will make some very strong runs and can be a punishing one-on-one defender, but he's also very poor laterally and misses important tackles when we're attempting to defend our line. Again, much like the Manly team as a whole, I like him, but he frustrates the living sh*t out of me.

For Sale - 100 Sean Keppie Shares

Price - Negotiable.

Warriors forwards didn't dominate Manly, I thought Keppie and Sips have both stood up in the last couple of weeks against two top packs.
Bull has also earned his keep, I hope we are about to extend his contract.
Sips has been really good. He has footy smarts also.
keppie wasnt too flash in his first stint but went way better in his second
bulll is a no brainer. I presume our search for an alpha prop has something to do with the tardy recruitment for him As he is essentially a free agent . He seems a specialist bench option and a very good one

Bully and Sips were outstanding but Keppie was patchy in defence. He stood up with the ball, but the miss of DWZ was an example of his ongoing issues with lateral defensive movements.

i think this style of play helps frog be a necessity in the middle . jake plays longer minutes than he should IMO also because of the same. Paseka and ailoi also have the same lateral issues at times

Yeah I’d prefer we keep Keppie. He’s by no means a world beater but he is a competitor and we need that type of player.
I like Keppie and would like to see him kept. But the problem that I see with people that aren’t keen on him,is that they judge him as a starting prop or as one of the top line ones.In all fairness,he should be assessed as a bench player in FG,at best,at this stage of his career, but due to injuries and some questionable recruitment and retention,he is being judged as one of Manly’s starting front rowers.Every club needs or has a Keppie type in their squad,it’s just that they’re not always seen in FG.Fans need to stop evaluating him as if he’s a $600K a year Prop

I agree that he should be a bench prop, however I have heard he is on good coin and that's why there was talk of his release to free up funds to sign a prop that can play longer minutes without gassing.

Therein lies the problem then.Anything more than $450K-$500K and I understand the rumours
