Sea Eagles injury crisis
Manly are in danger off going into tomorrow night’s massive clash against Souths without a recognised half or five-eighth.

Star number seven Daly Cherry-Evans is already out with an ankle injury and I can reveal that his halves partner Dylan Walker is also in grave doubt with a hand injury.

It’s the same injury that hampered Walker for much of last season and resulted in his form being well below his best in 2015.

The return of the injury is a blow, especially as Walker played his best game for the Sea Eagles in the brave win over the Roosters last Saturday night.

Coach Trent Barrett has already been forced to gamble on specialist hooker Api Koroisau to replace Cherry-Evans and the potential loss of Walker against a desperate Souths side will make it hard for the Eagles to take the points, even though the game is at ‘fortress Brookvale’.

Walker attended Thursday's Captain's Run but what if he fails a late fitness test?

Don’t be surprised if Barrett goes for winger Tom Trbojevic.

In another challenging five-day turnaround for Manly, star centre Steve Matai is also in doubt with his ongoing neck/shoulder issues.

A lot of the media is talking up Souths and I'm loving it! Most of they're reasons include manly are with out they're halfback-so are Souths! Souths have 2 of they're best forwards back-So do manly Taupau,Lawrence. Lol the media loves Souths and burgess. Hope we flog those woman bashing dogs!!!

Our game plan tonight will be most interesting, I'm guessing without DCE we will keep it simple and probably attack through their forwards with Api, Walker and Parcell hopefully running them ragged - if get some quick play the balls.
For anyone interested, the leader of our Tipping Comp (me!) has tipped Manly to win by 14-12 ...

Some reported late mail for tonight

Sea Eagles expected to be 1-17 with Koroisau replacing DCE in halves, DCE is expected to be out for 4 weeks due to foot injury. Lawrence and Taupau both return after missing last week’s game due to suspension. Matai is expected to play after missing last week’s game due to niggling injury. Rabbitohs I am expecting 1 change with Goodwin to be ruled out due to groin strain which will mean Auva’a moving into left centre with Oldfield coming onto right wing. Sam Burgess is a confirmed starter after completing Captains run on Wednesday so is Tom Burgess who will be playing his 1st game of 2016 season. Paul Carter will be 18th man and won’t come into 17 unless there is an injury in warm up.

I don't like the sound of 3 Burgi back in the team.
We can't let souths get off to a fast start. They'll be hard to run down.
I hope the boys fight hard and never give in.
Winning this game would be a fantastic achievement.
Go Manly!!!

I'm so pumped for tonight. Go manly! Good start will be important for confidence with DCE missing. Go hard boys

Will 'History Happen' for Stewart?
Wayne Cousins

Could ‘History Happen’ at Brookvale Oval tonight. And will you be there to witness it?

Champion Manly Warringah Sea Eagles full-back Brett Stewart is on the verge of Steve Menzies’ record for most tries scored at Brookvale Oval.

Stewart (87 tries in 95 games) needs one more try to equal Menzies’ record of 88 tries (in 147 games) at Brookie, and two tries to break it.

Stewart already holds the record for most tries for Manly at Brookvale Oval. Steve Menzies scored 78 tries for Manly and 10 for Northern Eagles at Brookvale.

Often referred to as ‘The Prince of Brookvale’ for his uncanny knack of scoring tries there, Stewart holds the record for most tries for the club (163 tries in 224 games).

Steve Menzies Career Record

Manly: 1993-99; 2003-2008: 280 games, 151 tries, 1 goal, 606 points.

At Brookvale: 88 tries in 147 games.

Northern Eagles: 2000-2002: 69 games, 29 tries, 116 points.

Overall: 1993-2008: 349 games, 180 tries, 1 goal, 722 points.

Brett Stewart Career Record

Manly 2003-: 163 tries in 224 games (holds club record)

At Brookvale: 87 tries in 95 games

Most tries in first grade career: 212 Ken Irvine, 180 Steve Menzies, 172 Billy Slater, 165 Andrew Ettingshausen, 164 Terry Lamb, 163 Brett Stewart.
