He could go to Newcastle and prove he is a supercoach unlike Bennett proved he is nothing without plenty of extra help

And when he won with St Merge in 2010 it was (IMO) because the top sides of 2007-09 (Manly and Storm) both had down years (plus Hayne couldn't continue carrying doesn't-matta like he did in the back half of 2009). We lost Snake and Wolfman to season ending injuries plus lost Ox, while the Storm got done for salary cap cheating. Is it any coincidence that once both clubs were back on track in 2011 that St Merge went back to just making up the numbers, even with the 'Supercoach' at the helm?

Bennett won premierships with Brisbane teams that even Peter Sharp would have struggled to lose with while his premiership at St Merge was when the top 2 sides were down and out for a year and his only opposition was a side coached by Brian Smith who couldn't win a grand final if he rigged it. Personally I think the Supercoach thing is a myth. He is a good coach but he's never proven to me that he is capable of winning with anyone other than a top team with all the best resources available to him. His time at Newcastle is proof of that.

Didn't sound like Crusher is too keen on doing anything at the moment after his One on One cabbage patch kid interview.

And then when it was apparent StG was a chance - Gasnier was gifted into the team from Union on essentially nothing by the NRL very, very late in that season - with his pay backended to the following four seasons. His contract was for the finale of 2010 plus 4 more seasons, and he retired in 2011. An NRL supported shonk.

Hasler is being ringbarked.
Ringbarked! Love it.

Dean Pay took over the Bulldogs midway through 2011 and did a remarkable job of turning around the performance of the team. He should have been given the job. Instead they pilfered Hasler and co with their huge surplus of pokies money and Dean Pay was relegated to support staff.

Mr Invisible trolled here for a good number of months to rub in our loss of Hasler. Methinks he'll now be thinking both the Bulldogs and Manly were losers from Greenberg's raid.

Apparently the dogs are upset at letting Connor Watson slip through the bulldogs hands.

So the dogs have Renoylds, Mbye and tried to get foran, but are upset a young kid who would want to play FG went to another club who gave him that opportunity.

The dogs logic is bit confusing.

Sounds like dessie has lumped the blame on not signing Mitchell and Watson on crusher. Crusher is not too happy and no wonder why

Dessie saving his own arse

Noel Cleal is upset he is being blamed for letting Connor Watson and Latrell Mitchell slip through the Bulldogs' fingers.

Others at Belmore played their part in missing out on those two.

Crusher is not happy with the way he was shown the door but is staying mum for now.

His northern beaches home is on the market and the big fella is likely to return to the bush.

Got the Knights to the qualifying final. Not the premiership that the Newcastle faithful carried on about - with Tinkler leading the tune - but not a bad effort considering where they were, and now are.

Recently I spotted that 'Hasler' is German in origin and derives from 'hostler' or 'ostler'. Those words describe someone who cares for the guests' horses at an inn. The latter has been prevalent in our language, in the past at least.

Bennett looks safe, so maybe Des is due for some code hopping time at the Brumbies?;)
