Unbelievable - what were the other Fans doing just watching the assault

A spectator allegedly assaulted a police officer at a Sydney NRL game, continuing to punch her as she lay on the ground.

The officer was allegedly attacked during a police operation at the Cronulla Sharks and St George Dragons game at the Southern Cross Group Stadium about 8pm Sunday.

Two men were fighting at the game when one of them allegedly assaulted the female officer, causing her to collapse to the ground.

An 18-year-old Cronulla man was arrested and taken to Miranda Police Station.

He has been charged with assaulting police, resisting arrest, and affray.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear in court on April 20.

Manly have to work on their set plays. Roosters have some of the best with so many players in motion and decoy runners. The souths also have a slick right to left set play they scored against manly and again tonight against the chooks.

Mitchell stood and passed on the 10 and Tupou caught it about 9 metres out. As Mitchell was all but standing still there couldn't have been that much forward momentum......

Not too good of a performance by the chooks, by no means bad, however Souths are a very ordinary team. Bamboozles me as to how we lost against them, wasted 2 competition points that day.
