First they announced it was Sutton, then had to tell everyone it was a mistake. NSWRL issued an apology. I doubt Sutton thought it was amusing :)

It's Miss Universe Canada all over again. @globaleagle - what were those crazy Cannucks thinking, the first winner was the better option in my professional opinion

I know! She was far better in my male opinion! And they reckon when they tallied the votes properly she was only the third runner up! That's a big drop.

She took the news well, said she felt bad for all those celebrating her win.

Ah well, the lady who was born a man didn't win so I guess Canadians aren't fully crazy...yet.

Sorry, got distracted for a sec. Game of footy somewhere??

Im not the biggest of either, but if I had to choose i would pick Reynolds. He is probably more versatile then sutton and has a similar style to the chooks halves.

I Understand the need to have utilities in a team but people are so apathetic about nsw these days, so why not take a risk and pick a specialist 17.

What has Reynolds got that Carney doesn't . Very confusing , the rednecks will be laughing at us again !

They are!!!

They shouldn't be laughing too hard, they have Justin O'Neill on standby

Reynolds has a fair bit of experience at hooker, I assume that was what edged him in front. Carney went missing a bit last year so I'm not too surprised that he got the arse.

Being a redneck, I'm pissing myself. I'm so glad they have picked Reynolds. Sutton may have been a problem- Reynolds will be another castaway after origin 1. Cronk and Thurston will make him look like the novice he is.

One of the secrets to Qld's success is that they stick solid to their players, and they never seem to let the team down. With NSW it's a selection lottery. It would be interesting to compare the total number of different Qld players V NSW players used over the past seven years. I reckon NSW would have used 50% more.

They had a stat up last night and it was 82-49 I think

They do have a smaller pool to pick from that never seem to get injured though.

Bet Dave Taylor wishes the pick and stick and loyalty program extended to him though, maybe Jacob Lillyman as well

Taylor only has himself to blame- act like a fool you'll be treated like a fool.

Lillyman was unfortunate to suffer injury and the replacements have stood up. He's very unlucky not to still be there.

Very easy to stick solid with your team when you when 7 in a row. I am sure the blues would do the same if they had similar success.

I am curious as to whether the Blues have some extra men in camp. I can imagine that Grant or Woods may be in camp whilst their teams have the bye.

Cant help but think that if Lewis is ruled out Gallen will move to the back row and Grant comes into prop.

Hearing some good mail that Inglis may miss the first game. With the weather in Sydney at the moment, forecast is for rain till Wednesday. We all know planes don't fly in the rain so seems Greg will be stuck in camp in Queensland.

lets not forget that year that justin hodges cost QLD 2 tries in one game , but they stuck by him and build a team of players that could win 7 years straight...

NSW flick their players , from memory

campese , indris etc...

how about the year NSW picked a 25 man squad ( laughing stock )

Rewriting history a touch there

Hodges was dropped for the remainder of the series after that shocker he had

NSW probably found it hard to pick Campese as well considering he has been injured for the majority of the last few years ;)

As was mentioned elsewhere Qld didn't extend their pick and stick program to Dave Taylor either. Didn't see Neilsen get called up as cover either

If I remember correctly, last year most of the people on here (from NSW) were done with soo and weren't going to watch this year, nor care about the result.

Is this still the case or has hope once again reigned eternal?

They will be around posting about the game later tonight GE

Almost as good as the people who never watch the footy show, haven't in years, but always know what has happened on it lol

Cant wait for the first contentious obstruction ruling in the game....as well as the first borderline shoulder charge....coupled with a few hands on the ball penalties..or will they turn a blind eye to these things in origin and play a bit more " old school " ??

That's my guess too.

Well, it's on in about 6 hours here (5am my time) so the pvr (recorder) is set and I'll be watching in about 8-10 hours time.

So time to sign off.

party on people, peace!
