Shaun "Exit" Lane mega thread.

Well young eagly, there's this thing called economics and sometimes it stops us from getting what we want. It's a little like that original AC Cobra you always wanted, we can't afford it. Yeah, I know it sucks, but it's reality.

On a serious note, Parra offered twice the upgraded amount we offered him. I'm guessing they are paying 350k+.
AC COBRA been my dream car since Carroll Shelby made it a beast.
I think we should have kept Lane.

Like I say, if we could somehow manage to have:

Joel Thompson
Curtis Sironen
Jake Trbojevic
Bryce Cartwright

In the backrow, and a front row rotation of:

Addin Fonua-Blake
Marty Taupau
Taniela Paseka
Kelepi Tanginoa

And a hooker / utility tandem of:

Apisai Koroisou
Manase Fainu

Calling it here, injury free, that group is top 1 or 2 in the entire league given age / experience.

Love Lane, but that group would make him expendible to a degree.
If Siro stays injury free for the year then he would end up being the gun second rower we've wanted. Has a great combination with DCE which saw him score tries off passes and kicks last year. He also has a very good pass and an underrated kick. But only if he stays fit...

Lane has been great this year, and will be a loss, but it is a loss that can potentially be covered well

A fit Sironen is obviously an upgrade, but guys like Sipley and Gos are in the same spot now that Lane was this time 12 months ago, maybe next season could be their breakout year. I am keen to see what Gos has got if he gets an injury free run, like some bits of what I see there

I believe his close friendship with Jackson Hastings had some influence on his decision but the $ were too good to refuse
Worried about Paseka's friendship with Hasting's as well.

Lane / Hastings are besties, so take it as fact about Lane basically giving the finger to our club.

Shaun Lane arrived at Manly with his career at a crossroads and left Trent Barrett speechless when he announced he was moving again.

Both men had a mid-season heart-to-heart, with the 198cm back-rower departing for Parramatta next season in the form of his life and channelling Sea Eagles legend Steve Menzies' strike rate with five tries in his last four games.

Lane, who has agreed to a three-year-deal at the Eels, said Manly fought hard to keep him.

As Brett Stewart said (Love that man), "Be Manly, don't be a daaawg".
You're either with us, or against us, so Lane can pretty well go and get ****ed in my opinion.

It is obvious his brain doesn't work .... I wouldn't be using Lane as an example of anything other than congenital numb-nuttedness ..

Parramatta has a such great record for developing talent LOL

With lane's try scoring this year Arthur thinks that he has signed a winger to replace semi

Doesn't the Parramatta junior nursey rival the Panthers for numbers? There seems to be a massive difference in quality at the moment. Why is this?
