Think (hope) he would want to be a 1 club, 1 position man. He could do it if he put his mind to it, and he's been looking more and more like a 5/8 as the years go by, but, geez, somehow its just not going to happen. Lets see how Snake looks early season next year, the whole 'Gifty' thing will have moved to the back of his mind by then.

I think this 'off season' thread is based upon a far fetched speculation, as is my thread re BJ. But we can have FUN cant we ?

Snake could do it (move to 5/8). He has the skills, experience and game awareness to do it successfully. But I have to agree, his body just isn't up to it. Foz batters himself from pillar to post out there. Snake averages what, 5 tackles a game at fullback? To ask him to switch to 5/8 now with all the injuries he's had and put himself through what Foz does......

IF we did lose Foz, we have JLJ, Killer and even Peta Hiku who can play 5/8.

Snake is a fullback, that's his position and that's where Manly should play him until he either retires or leaves (and if he ever does leave I hope its like Beaver and to the ESL because I don't ever want to see him play against Manly. Its going to be hard enough if/when Gifty does next year). At FB he has room to move, room to show his speed. He can virtually pick and choose when to come into the attack and his experience in defence is invaluable.

Continue playing Snake at FB and he has a good 2 or 3 years left in him. Play him in the front line at 5/8 and he'd have 1, maybe 2 years at best
