Stewart 'Rested'

To be fair turbo had very little defence to do tonight but what I do like is he has no fear in bringing the ball back. He doesn't look at offloading it to a person in a worse position in order to avoid being tackled.

Before the serpent is punted i'd really like to see how the new fb go's against quality opposition. Perhaps the storm.

Very true. Saints did very little in attack tonight, so Tom T was never tested.
If Stewart can get over his hammy injury, gain confidence and get back to being involved, we will need him.

James Hooper just mentioned on Triple M that Snake had seen a specialist regarding a knee injury this week and he's heard that there is complications that could mean we've seen the last of him in the NRL.

That would be sad, but perhaps a little convenient ( putting my tin foil hat on).

Despite his current issues would have been nice to farewell him with Jamie in round 25.

Manly can still organize a Sutton's or Brookvale Mazda motors drive around Brookie in Rd 25 if his knees are gone :lightbulb:

Amazing how fast the attrition rate is for the 2008 premiers 🙁

Judging by the gist of that conversation he's battled it for some time.
I'll be remembering him at his best.
And how sweet it was !!!

For me it is all about Jamie now. Travelodge Brookie booked, halfway tix front of grandstand. Can't wait
Maybe Brett can exit with some dignity left in tact. It is Turbo Time

Snake was arguably our most influential player over the last decade. No other player was more vital to Manly winning or losing over that time than the record try scoring Prince of Brookvale.

We could lose just about anyone to injury during that time and we still would have found a way to keep winning. Whenever Snake was out injured though, more often than not we lost.

Unfortunately though it couldn't last forever and now thankfully in Tom we have someone talented enough to make fullback his own.

I'm not going to say that Snake should stand down and let Tom become our first choice fullback a-la Bob Batty for Graham Eadie because its not up to me. But I think its something he and the club should be considering.

First I have heard of a knee problem. C'mon silvertails, why wasn't I told earlier,, or have our sources become lazy.
Some guy I briefly met at a caravan awning place two years ago told me he'd had a couple of beers with Glen Stewart the weekend before, and Glen had said that Brett's knees were totally shot way back then. I would have mentioned it on Silvertails but it seemed too credible at the time...
