RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal

im really upset , more the reason all us supporters have been on a roller coaster ride after scum des left ..
" a man can only row with the oars his got " i wasnt worried about des leaving after the crap that was happening 6 months ago.

but losing our players because of him thats what bothers me , he obviously cant win a comp by being a good coach and attempting a challenge.,

he wants his stars as well.

after the other day with that message the scum dogs sent out with those tshirts , i had a feeling Foran had signed , im just hoping trex hasnt gone as well from what has be said on this forum..

the manly club need to notify us supporters considering what we have been through the last 6 months , so WE can take it on the chin all can move on put this to bed. BUT saying that they are just rumours --maybe we still have a slim chance.

RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal

We haven't lost any players as of this moment

From Massoud today

A SINISTER air of deja vu has descended over Brookvale, with Manly officials now fearing their desperate bid to keep Kieran Foran is nothing more than a repeat of last year's Des Hasler debacle.

The Sea Eagles widely expected Foran to accept a new three-year extension last Friday.

But the eerie silence now has them privately suspecting a deal was done with the Bulldogs long ago - as was the case with Hasler before last year's grand final.

Manly feel they have met all of Foran's demands - namely an upgrade and specialist halves coaching - and can't think of any other explanation for the delay.

Foran is adamant his decision is not about money but, rather, which club offers the best environment to fulfil his extraordinary potential.

That's why he asked the Sea Eagles to bring back Andrew Johns for weekly sessions, and was non-plussed when discussions only involved the Knights legend coaching less frequently.

Then there's Hasler, who is understood to be lobbying Foran behind the scenes with the same zest that convinced a host of ex-Manly staff to join him at Belmore.

With Hasler set to face his old club in the season's most anticipated clash next Friday night, there's little chance Foran will announce his future in the next week. But after Manly edged back into contention with fresh third-party deals, we're tipping he's gone to the Dogs.

RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal

There are two overriding influences with the Manly players and coaches joining the dogs; Hasler and money.

In regards to Foran, all his success has come at Manly and Hasler was only a part of that. His team mates have also been a big factor. You can't blame a young kid for taking the cash but it's a big leap of faith to think he will have the same level of success somewhere else.

Apparently it was a caller who rung MMM, after seeing Foran and Des at a coffee shop together early this morning.

Overheard at the above coffee shop (somewhere in Sydney)-

Foran: "Sorry Des, but I have decided to stay loyal to the club and not sell my soul for a few pieces of gold. I really believe we could develop a dynasty over the next few years that will be remembered for years to come."

RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal

This whole thing just stinks of the same stench when Des left. I think people that are holding onto the idea that Foran may still sign with us are going to be in for a lot of disappointment. I could handle Foran going if we were to keep Trex but im pretty sure DES is going after them both and throwing plenty of $$$$ their way.

RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal

Losing both to the Dogs would be a huge kick in the guts. Its scarey even contemplating how much it would hurt.

And Manly would be offering a truck load of cash as well. So,he owes his team mates who have helped him to get where he now is...it is called team loyalty.

RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal

If he's already signed and playing with the club like that article suggests he should own up and **** off now.

Yeah, because that's what people say when offered a better job. 99% of people won't turn down a job with a larger pay. Hell if someone offered $50-$60k more a year for the same job, you'd be a nutcase to turn it down. People look down on players when they sign for a larger pay check, but you'd do the same thing for your career. :dodgy:

Yes that is true but the average joes arent on mega money so 50k or 60k is a major increase!! however these guys we are talking about are on the big $$ so surely after an increase with the club your at staying with the team you love your mates etc has to count for something

You are a certified f..king troll mate- "better job" playing for chihuahuas? Also, why is it that Foran is incapable of accepting slightly less to play with his mates and near where he lives and not have to travel from the peninsula to Belmore everyday?

I may have been tongue in cheek earlier, but if it is true that Foran met with Hasler "at a coffee shop" earlier today, and considering the speculation in the media right now and the fact we are playing the chihuahuas next week, (which means one of our main players is having a private meeting with the opposition coach a few days before a vital game), is it not more likely to assume that Foran was telling Shylock that he intends staying with the Premiers?

Lets not forget though, its 50-60k over 3 or 4 years. Could be upwards of an extra qtr mil. Thats a lot to turn down. That being said, players have to take out tax, and of course the player managers cut as well so the figure isn't going to be as high as that anyway.

Kieran Foran negotiations are dead set bemusing. So much pressure. Met @manlyseaeagles coach Geoff Toovey yesterday. Decision over weekend.

foran already gone

media reports suggesting he has signed with the dogs, big mouth buzz has basically stated this also adding that Manly couldnt run a chook raffle,It looks as though he has done another hasler dog act on the club and after manly bent over backwards to satisfy his requests for huge money,if correct where is the loyalty if money is similar what a joke,i guess winning a premiership with your mates only means something to a special few, blokes like beaver, king, whatmough, matai have all taken much reduced contracts to play and stay at the one club.we as Manly fans should never forget that they are true legends of the club.dont get me wrong players are entitled to set themselves up financially with the best deal they can get,but when massive money is still not enough i say get rid of him and anyone else who dosnt truly want to be in manly colours when massive money has been offered, that includes trex if he wants out get rid of him as well, true clubman like snake and matai must be resigned,we will end up loosing players trying to satisfy 2 blokes who appear to have already signed for the dogs, hope they enjoy playing at empty stadiums and training at belmore.this sorry saga is hurting the club players asking for 17% of the salary cap is a joke.

RE: Foran close to agreeing on a new Manly deal
