Probably a case of horses for courses in regard to trying to get the balance right with maintaining a solid nucleus . retaining and developing promising juniors and the important strategic recruiting and this would just not apply to Manly . Also every season and era is different of course . Right now it seems that there could be at least up to six or seven of the present 20"s squad who may be i st grade standard soon and i am sure that these have already been acknowledged by Manly officials . The fact that only Turbo Tom and [ Bainbridge to a lesser extent ] are the only members of the 2015 20 "s squad in Manly's top side now and Price at Black Town , is really no fault of the club . Knight , Demetriou , Ramien and others have or were given every subsequent opportunity but came up short for what ever reason . The present Manly side has undergone a major rebuilt recently and sadly but obviously with a bit more consistency and discipline could have even perhaps been the Storm"s opponent this weekend , it was just that type of season . Just like any other of the successful Manly eras' with title wins , this current team does seem to need something extra to be good enough for a title win , part of it can definitely come from with in the present squad , but as is generally suggested , maybe just one or two key additions could make the difference . [ but i am not sure with Thompson"s reported 450 grand price tag and Moylan at 700 grand , as i am not sure if this is sustainable ] . The important balance can still be maintained however , and i am sure the current juniors who prove good enough will be retained and again the strong nucleus of the side is there . Again the unfortunate aspect is that with maybe just one more win to make the top four and then with some better consistency and discipline , even this current Manly side could have been facing off against the Storm this week .
