Maybe he just wanted to check out their ex-porn star fitness trainer.

Another article. This again quoted Lyon who said he was tabled a 4 yr deal effective this yr, which he will not be accepting.

the article goes on to 'claim' that he verbally accepted the offer and askef for a release which was denied by manly. (plausible, but I'm buying into it yet.)

You would think of the salary cap rises to 5.8 then 6 next season, we could keep killer for a few more yrs. He is a legend and has shown a lot of loyalty to this club. I hope he plays out his career at manly

Jamie did ask for a release. David May has confirmed it. Manly didnt approve of his release. Jamie's agent agreed to the offer that the Titans had tabled him. Jamie agreed verbally BUT Manly will not release him. Thats it i guess.

CRAP!!
I am told that Jamie did not ask manly for a release. This has all come from his manager who an offer was put to.
Jamie wants to stay and manly will make a very good offer to him for 3 years soon. There is no massive salary cap pressure as that drunk Throthfield has said since the cap was taken to 5.75 mil.

That CEO at the titans is a dope. He gave this story to the drunk with out checking.

Wrong

Give David May a break. He is trying to do what the last administration didnt do which is to care for the fans. He is trying to make up for the times where Titans Fans like me felt like the club didnt care about the fans.

This is the Prince saga all over again

Boys i always like to look at things on the positive side, however im pretty sure Jamie did ask fo a release and was denied. He wont be with us after this season.

I do not know what to believe. I think both sides are probably gilding the lily a little. I do not believe Jamies manager negotiated a 4 year deal with the Titans without discussing it with Jamie at all. Why would he waste his time if Jamie had no intention of going at all? The only plausible explanation is Lyon was doing what DCE did, forcing the issue to a head regarding his contract.

I think Toovs should first of all ban ANYONE in the club from speaking to Slothfield...He goes out of his way to stir sh!t and if no one gives him oxygen he will just die offf.

He is an old, grumpy, bitter, biased, twisted, smelly, low down, mud racking knob of a journalist....Pension time Sloth...bye bye

I do not get the Rothfield hate. I don't really care for him either way but all he did was report a storey and to be fair the storey was not far of the mark. Yes the headline a little deceiving but the titans did make a offer and wanted him this year.

All I want to know is who started this ? Was it the Titans in desperation for a top class player or was it Jamie (or his management) trying to get a longer and better deal from Manly? Whichever way it has surely stirred up a hornets nest.

For all you newbys out there we have seen this before with Bobby Fulton and Paul Vautin , we will survive.

Newby my ass. I've been a fan even before you graced a diaper.
It's only natural that we want to keep the best. Jamie is the BEST.
You can't possibly think Vautin is in the same class as Killer and Bozo?

Ha Ha thats good then you have been a supporter since 1957 . You would not have got a better captain and club man than Paul Vautin.

My salute to you as a longer term supporter and my apologies.
We would not have won 2008 and especially 2011 without Jamie.

LOL
Are you suggesting we all start throwing our shoes at Phil when we see him?

I can't believe the club would not give the BEST player a 4 or 5 year deal. I rather keep Jamie than all these other first graders combined -
George Rose, David Williams, Brent Kite, Steve Matai (even though he's awesome), Vic Mauro, Ben Farrar, Joe Galuvao.... and more.

Don't tell me there's not enough money combined here to make room for Jamie Lyon? MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Its that kind of thought that ruins clubs. Didn't you see what happened to the Panthers with Jennings? You cannot be a one player team in the modern game. Depth is important. Hamstringing the club with too many years and too many dollars is not the right thing to do at this point in Jamies career. Im glad that Perry has set limits for years and dollars for all of our players, even our most important ones.

I beg to differ.
First of all, we're not Penrith.
Secondly, we have an extraordinary depth that we haven't enjoyed in previous years. I'm excited about 2013.

Furthermore, some of the players I've listed, we won't be that badly impacted if they were missing.
1. George Rose is not exactly a regular first grader.
2. David Williams was hardly on the field.
...the rest were either old, injured, suspended, or fringe players.

The main one I love to keep is Matai.
Mauro has been a solid player.
Brent and Joe is gettin' on. Both have been great in their days.

In saying that, I think the kind of player Jamie is, he could be another Beaver and be awesome until 36.

Anyway, what I say won't matter as I'm not the one with the cheque book.
