gambling hurts lots of families
There is at least one add for a gambling site in every set of ads on TV. It's getting dangerous.
And have you noticed they have switched their incentive to bet to: you can opt out and get your money back?
Yeah sure.
This is really targeting youngsters who may actually believe you can't lose when you bet with these sites.
The Government needs to stop gambling advertising at the very least.

Is this what we get for signing a sponsor that isn't an NRL approved gambling house?

Remember when we wanted to sign some betting agency as our sponsor a few years ago and the NRL vetoed it because they were a rival of SportsBet? (funny how Brisbane were allowed to sign William Hill though.....)

Whatever happened to the days when you could have Pepsi as your major sponsor and then go and win a league run competition sponsored by Coca-Cola?

Was Centrebet. Now any and every bookie/casino or gambling site can jersey sponsor a team but ours was poo pooed. And if I recall correctly all Centrebet wanted was signage around the field during games...

Getting sick and tired of the double standards. How can they even consider banning Lottoland when so many other agencies are warmly embraced. If they are gunna ban one agency, be fkn consistent and ban the lot. A bit like coal. The moronic do-gooders trying to ban all coal use in Australia when we don't make the slightest dent in carbon emissions, and yet they still happily sell it to other countries, that by the way have developed technology for its use with substantially reduced emissions, yet we are left to pay the highest electricity charges in the world. Absolutely no policy consistency, which would make the government (left, right or centre) the perfect partner for the NRL.

LOTTOLAND and Planet Lotto will be banned under a Turnbull government crackdown on controversial “fake” lottery websites.

Communications Minister Mitch Fifield will introduce legislation to federal parliament on Wednesday to ban betting on lotteries and keno games.

Lottoland, a Gibraltar-based online gambling company which allows users to bet on the outcome of international lotteries, has come under sustained attack from the newsagent industry with the backing of One Nation leader Pauline Hanson.

“The government has formed the view that permitting betting on these services, also known as ‘synthetic’ lotteries, undermines the longstanding community acceptance of official lottery and keno products,” Mr Fifield said in a statement on Tuesday.

In a statement, Lottoland Australia CEO Luke Brill said, “While we understand the concerns expressed by some newsagents, the proposed legislation is both misguided and unnecessary.

“The fact is that Lottoland does not offer betting opportunities on any Australian lottery, so our offering does not have a direct impact on newsagents.

I posted this in the other lottoland bumped thread so may as well do it here too.

Really I am not surprised. They are a **** company with very dodgy ethics.

Just another master stroke by Penn.

Lottoland is no different to CFD and that faced the same initial hysteria.

People will gamble on share price movements or lottery outcomes via the Internet @

A number of newsagents in or area are closing and reopening as cafes who sell newspapers
