We all keep saying “ he’s cheap or he’d be cheap”, but if you consider Myles was on big money and quite a few of the others on decent money surely we have the $$$ to buy a decent player or two rather than just look at rubbish has beens not wanted by their current clubs.

Actually getting them to come might be a harder task nevertheless it shouldn’t be about buying a whole stack of bargain buys ( lord knows we’ve been down that road and it hasn’t worked).

If they cannot see we need a winger or two plus a couple of forward , and not bargain basement price , we will be in for a similar year as this . Im sure there is things being put in place behind the seens.

Yes I have to agree, surely the Pennsters can’t be that dumb to think if all they do is go with mostly the same team next year that they won’t have great difficulty in getting people to join as ticketed members.

Hope ur wrong there , but they have done it themselves. The media will jump on the bandwagon and say , "Manlys support base is terrible , their ground is terrible yarda yarda . I can see it now.

Spot on. All our forwards are just too nice. Some might fight hard, but they all just fight so fair. Im with Robbo 100 per cent with the Kenny Edwards suggestion.

As much as we all dislike the Eels, they will have to release some, and they have a few forwards who could add something at Man.

We need a **** hot defensive coach first and formost and a recruitment/list manager. If we do not sign these guys, we will keep making dumb descisions in both defence and recruitment.

Small steps, lets just get A defensive coach and A recruitment manager first.

The 3rd Turbo, Ben played in the u/17 Grandfinal last weekend .....

He wouldn't be the first player to debut at 18yo ....... can any one with more info give us an idea if this is possible/likely ?

Not that I have seen every game but Schuster is the bloke who looks most likely. Has great hands and good vision. Could be the next gifty

It will be like a domino effect. The new coach (who I reckon has probably already reached an agreement in principle) will be having a say on recruitment which is awaiting the Salary cap appeal outcome. I suspect that the current outcome forecast to Greenburg is displeasing and he is trying to dig up something to save face and his agenda. The delay in delivering a decision is ingenious. My tip is that Hoss will be assistant and Bryce will be with us next year. I really hope its M & M for us - Madge and Maloney.

Jonus pearson from broncos cant get a srart there behind Oates. He's a gun. Quick can catch and been in the system for a couple years. I said we should have chased him this year and still think hed be an awesome cheaper buy for our weak link wing spot. Can someone start a forum on him and try get manly to take notice!!!

You don't try and build a club around the Turbo brothers to then turn around and buy a bloke like Kenny Edwards.

He is a pest that is too concerned with anything other than football to be a good influence on our young squad.

When some on here say a player is on 150k plus 700k in tpa's I think well ok, we only have to offer more than 150k then, seeing as tpa's are with the player and not the club!

How simple and awesome is that?

Why has no one thought of it before?

I mean, surely the brisbane thoroughbreds still honour all their tpa's if players leave, why it'd be unethical not to!

Just say a NEW coach of good quality is at Manly 2018, the roster injury free looks pretty good on paper.
Fact is, it is also littered with many who would be in NSW cup at other teams, plus with a few outs and players needed, what positions do we need to bolster most?

I feel a bit of speed is lacking out wide so a legitimate modern day winger is 1 area and though we have big Arnie style forwards, lack a bit of grunt and raw aggression - especially defensively where its rare to see a big shot and the opposition wins the speed in that ruck 90% of the time...need a tough leader in the forwards with a voice to keep the players around on point and not these sleepy 5-10 minutes patches where 16 points is leaked.

We need some quality in a few areas, not cast offs. For me;

2 outside backs- either wingers or centre
1 2nd rower
1 prop

Perrett / Winterstein are Park footy players at best.

We are short a good quality , long minutes, hard tackling first grader, probably in the Ethan Lowe type mould, not a world beater but a doer!!

We lose so much when our two frontline props come off, you just know we’ll go backwards when that happens.

Tangles might get there, Sipley didn’t play enough to judge.

Otherwise another Prop as well.

And TWO wingers, Parker is another Park footy player and as much as I love Horhay for his past exploits his days on the wing are ( IMO) finished.

We probably won’t attract a Cory Oates or a Addo-Carr so I’d go for the best two they can find in the lower grades, I think one of the new players rumoured to be coming might be one of those.

We are covered otherwise, and unlike the Roosters who can have 17 million dollar players and then 13 half million dollar players you know that players 25-30 are very average at best, and little we can do about that!
