I'm still of the belief he'll make a good coach , he's passionate, articulate and has a modern head for the game.

I know many don't subscribe to the " excuses" deal but you have to admit on the injury front last year was close to the perfect storm.

I don't think even @God , or whomever you think is the best coach on the game would have been able to do much better.

There were weeks where we didn't even have 17 fit players.

And after week 1 of 2017, with injury & suspensions, we have 5 out of the 25 on the sideline....20% of the team!!

No doubt the " sack Trent" crew will blow this out of the water, but ask yourself this, " even if the great De$ Ha$ler was the coach would things be much different"?!!

You also need to know when to hold them, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, know when to run.

And you never count your money when your sitting at the table because there'll be time enough for counting, when the dealing is done!!

Must say though, cant see a lot different from Twentys 2016 to 2017 yet, maybe its just a bit of time. We all know 1st grade coaches get a lot of that.

Dan Ferris is the real culprit that needs to be sacked. Barrett is guilty of having faith in him. When Dan Ferris arrived at the club from the Titans he unceremoniously sacked one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the game Donny Singe. Donny was a team player and was keen to work with Ferris however Ferris a nobody decided to boot the two time premiership winning trainer Singe. Since then we have constantly looked out of gas and unfit for large periods during games. It is those 20min periods where the other team gains ascendancy and puts cheap points on us. We start to lose our fitness and with that we succumb to fatigue and we scramble just to keep any kind of shape. Then after relentless defensive periods we have no bodies with enough energy to get into structure for attacking plays, making our halves look poor and then fatigue causes us to make silly errors and take poor options under duress. Barrett made a dumb call allowing Singe to leave. We haven't competed fitness wise since.

Singe was head of fitness for 2v's last season and we looked unfit and always injured.

Mark, every team looks tough to beat when Manly is playing like a bottom 4 team.

Not his fault that 3 props are gone in round 1. 5 of 25 out plus Stewart & Matai can't be replaced.
But reality is that the worst losing run in our history will be too much by then.
Like everyone else, hope I'm wrong, if it means a win or two. But I can't see it.
