Gutherson on the cheap

And do I want gutherson in the back line some where - only maybe on the wing if we are desperate due to injuries. I want another genuine organizer to help DCE. We know what happens when DCE has to do everything himself.

To say he is on verge of SOO is ridiculous! We dont need him. We need a specialist center and 5/8 and winger. Gutho is neither any of them and would get mauled in the centers

Simon I will note down your comment about Gutherson and rep football. He's only 21 and has been in junior rep sides as captain. And suggesting he isnt fast or solid suggests you havent been watching him too closely. He's not as fast as Tom but he's faster than most centres and wingers out there and has more nous than most. He's already played in the NSW City side so he's up there in the minds of the selectors.

He's not faster than most centres he's actually slow for their standards. And he only made city side because 7 fullbacks pulled out.

Your eyes must be going backwards Turbo. Have you tried the local oculist? I was watching his game against Penrith. He was passing players on the fringes with ease. Had to slow down at one stage to allow his team to keep up. He's a lot faster mate than you think. And whether other full backs dropped out or not from the City side, fact is he was chosen and is in the frame. And the various panels are suddenly talking him up. We'll wait until next year and see if you still feel the same way.
 
Gutho definitely isn't on the verge of origin, but I wouldn't put it past him in the future. But he really isn't that quick, also gets tossed like a rag doll, by the big boys. Gutho is a far more skilful, & a vastly more intelligent player, than walker will ever be. But walker is much stronger & has speed to burn. For the record...I didn't want gutho or peta to leave. Both Manly players...

Personally I'm glad Gutho is history...he sports ridiculous haircuts and he runs like a pansy...he looks like Nightingale; dorky and unorthodox. He left for an opportunity so he certainly doesn't have the same love for Manly that many of you lot imagine him to have. The club told him he could go if he wanted to and he didn't hesitate.

He is loving at the Eels and he is Eels scum now. An opportunist cameo where the ball bounces his way for a half of footy is not going to convince me he is on the path to origin honours. He is skinny, not overly fast and runs like he is not sure what he will do next.

No great loss IMO.

Ah I love someone who can put their point across with such dispassion, such objectivity, such l'amour de la realite. Warms the loins to read words touching on such fair-mindedness and detachment. To appreciate a talent for what it is rather than who it serves. Should also mention pansy is derived from the French and means thoughtful. Make sense of what Gutherson did Hopefully such 'pansy' action will bring him back

I agree snake. Where would he play in the backline anyway? Cover for Tom as a full back playing in nsw cup? No loss
 
I keep wishing he'd play like crap 'cause he plays for the disgusting eels now...keep trying to tell myself he's not that good but to my dismay, he's a bloody good player. Wish we'd kept him

Oh dear. No humour here obviously. Warming the loins obviously means peeing myself as in laughing. As for pansy, it comes from the latin and old french as in penser : to think. The french equivalent is pensee which means a thought or remembrance. It later was used for the flower. Ho hum

G'day all,Skinny,not overly fast and runs like he is not sure what to do next,sounds a bit like a fullback we had playing for us this year,only difference being at least he runs the football.
