Just having a dig but it's not unusual for the SG ball kids to come into the 20's at the conclusion of their comp. Especially considering we had such a good side

STFU

Our performances improved once the ball kids came up. They must be a good crop. If we hang onto them we should be pretty competitive in 2013. Think the same happened in 08. Our side was very young and we were ordinary, in 09 with more experience we were minor premiers.

Lots of talent in Ball for sure but must make sure the kids are well looked after. In terms of size and muscle they give away alot. Real sad with Toyota cup as previously we used to do well. Yet, we need the cash for first grade.

Would be good to see a more competitive 20's team however as long as we have a handfull of good ones come through into top 25 each year we will continue to be more than competitive in NRL

I saw signs that this side might be a top side during the next 2 years if we can hold onto them.
A shame we couldn't keep Joey Lussick we'd really push for the 20s title

the thing with NYC is that its a feeder system. Really NYC premierships mean jack.
What you want from an NYC side is 3 or 4 quality players coming through the ranks every couple of years.

Look at canberra they won the first toyota cup in 2008 have they won an NRL comp yet????

If we can get 4 or 5 of those kids in our first grade side in 2014 or so its done its job.

Spot on.

Sorry Cam have to disagree NZ last year had all three grades in the GF.
And will eventually win a title due to this depth.
What depth like that means is competition for positions - healthy for a NRL side.

but have they yet. Their no certs to win a title just because of their lower grade success.

look at the dogs they went back to back in NSW cup a couple of years back and got nothing for it.

Winning minor grade titles are only important to clubs who can't win in first grade.

The other thing that happens now with NYC being on TV players are hyped up and the roosters and bulldogs of the comp go and poach other clubs NYC teams, think Maria Hargreves and Tasi.

Its about getting 3 - 4 coming up every couple of years, you dont want to be successful every year because you wont keep the kids and you end up being a feeder club for everyone else.

No point having a star studded Jr lineup as they will just get poached by other clubs anyway, you just want enough good players to give some decent depth for our first grade squad. Im surprised many of the NZ U20 team has not been poached already.

Yes clubs will buy these players but I see the Warriors like a hydra take one head(player) and another three will take his place.

Look at the Maloney situation for them most clubs would have fallen to an eels like position once they found out he was going to the Roosters next year but they have a handy 5/8 waiting the wings that played 20s with Johnson and also have Thomas Leuluai to come from Wigan.

I like Josh Drinkwater very much. He's a gun. We've got some good halves at the club at the moment.

Fab Natoli plays with 2V's heart and build :D

Took down the giants and still was bouncing around at the end - great one to pencil in for the future

The Fullback looked gutted he missed it too. Drinkwater looked filthy they opted for the other bloke. He kicked well all day.
