Match Stats

I agree he has been poor, but channel 9 commentators said he has been sick all week and probably shouldn't be playing. Needs some time to in reserve grade to work on the basics.
The Storm highlighted again another corridor where you could beat Manly.

It’s called the Schuster Channel.

She’ll be right mate. On the bright side - no injuries or on reports, gave Jake a break with 10 to go and Ola with 20 to go. Played in first gear first 15 minutes and last 10 and still beat a Top 2 team.
Pretty sure Keppie is on report for that off-the-ball hit on Brandon Smith. Even though Smith deserved it.

THE GOOD
It was good that we finally got the 2 points from a top 4 team

THE BAD
The way we capitulated again was an anti climax

AND THE UGLY
Those 4 unanswered tries in 4 minutes
reminded me that We are like the boxer who lacks the killer punch to put his opponent out for the count .

So , don't play him them. I'm sure De Luis would have loved a game
It's beyond our control who plays or who doesn't. Burbo would have been the next cab off the rank.

Next game, Aloiai will be back & hopefully, Jake will be okay after Origin. There might be some selection dilemmas in the forwards.

Back from Brookie and what a bizarre game. From the first 10 minutes with both sides inexplicably having the dropsies, to the last 10 minutes when the score went from 36-12 to 36-30. At the end everyone was standing around recovering from near heart attacks!

Anyway, a win's a win and against the Storm makes it sweeter. An awesome birthday gift, both for me and for Reuben.

Worth noting that Garrick was a passenger in that game. We won with 12 men. Fullback is a pretty important position to carry someone in too.
Agree. Perfect time after the win to unleash Weekes next game anyway. As long as we aren't playing Penrith at least. It's the kids time to shine.

Interesting that when the Storm were cooked they received five penalties in the last 12 minutes.
Yes, I know the last two were stupid and wholly in our control.

Increasingly I find the arrogance of both Des and DCE really embarrassing. Contrast that with Bellamy who calls a spade a spade.

Am I missing something here? Seems most of you agree we are just a slightly above average team, and we just beat a top 2 contender.

And you're not all utterly stoked??

Absolutely no worries they came back hard, but who cares how, when the main fact of the matter is that an average team just beat a top one.

Great job Manly. You've done me proud.

‘Like I said in another post, nothing (or no one) is going to burst my bubble of happiness.
‘Enjoy the win. Life is to short not too.

Were a bottom 8 team and we beat a top 2 side in the storm, the score doesn't matter what matters is Manly won. Has to be our best win in years given our position on the ladder. The confidence a young team can get out of that would be massive might even turn our season around.

I'm watching from Thailand & lost connectivity several times, esp. towards the end, so didn't see whatever Schuster did or didn't do.

However, I am surprised by negativity of some posters. We beat our arch enemy after all! The last victory against them was by one point in 2019. Sure, we clocked off towards the end, but we smashed their forwards for most of the match. We can do the same thing next time we play them. Also, the shackles came off our attack and the team can now start fully believing in themselves.

That was a great try by Koula against the run of the play, esp. as he had to turn around to catch the ball. However, if Saab received the ball in a similar position, no one would have got near him & he would have scored closer to the posts. IMO, he is substantially faster than Koula. Koula's strength is his speed off the mark.
Koula jogged the final 20m...in saying that, due to his stature, he has obviously had to put on a fair bit of bulk to meet the demands of FG. That often results in a slight loss of speed. He ran 10.58 and that’s faster than Saab’s 100m at the same age. However, Saab is still quite lean and appears to have only gotten quicker. I’d love to see them race each other on a track.
