The issue is though that he obviously excels the most at fullback, for which it is a position he can't have. Take away his games and stats at fullback, what would manly actually be getting? How much does this lessen the impact we have witnessed from Gutho the last few years, because he does looked to have gone on in leaps and bounds!

I not sold on him as a 5/8 or centre especially for the money he's asking.
He's a very very good fullback no doubt, but I'll be pretty disappointed if we offer him his asking price.

When we have players like Croker on minimal coin who can step up and do their job when required, then we should ask how much extra value Gutho brings for several hundred thousand more per season.

Plenty of comments saying we have Croker and Parker etc doing a job and they offer better value for money etc

These are two players that have been lambasted on here previously and I'm sure if we lose this week they will probably cop it again............there is just no middle ground with some.

For mine Parker is doing an admirable job this year, the kid is a centre, not a winger and it shows, he is a steady player and i wouldn't necessarily mind if he was resigned for depth. That said I do not believe that we should be starting a season with him as a starting centre if we have aspirations of top 4 or a premiership....and that is what we should be working torwards.

Croker the same, absolutely fantastic to see him fight his way back and was so delighted to see him score 2 tries, but I do not believe he is the long term answer at 5/8

I think Gutho is a jack of all trades, master of none.

Not a strike/premium FB, 5/8 or Centre. He's not worth the coin that's been reported.

We would be better off signing a specialist Centre and 5/8.

A backline with Parker, Suli and Croker/Elgey won't win us a premiership.

Often wonder why we haven't gone after Moses - we've needed a 5/8 for some time ( ever since Foran left really ) and there's a potential gun player who hasn't hit anywhere near his potential yet whom his club seem to run hot and cold on.

He killed it at 5/8 his main strength is his running game and he would be a perfect foil for chez. We have a massive pack that can roll up the field gutho would form a premiership winning combination with tommy on that left side hes super fit and has great game awareness. He has alot more tries at fb but he had 8 more games there, his try assists and line break assists were the same or close with 8 less games.
